According to the National Bureau of Statistics, in 2013, China achieved an industrial added value of 21070 billion yuan, with the added value of industries above designated size increasing by 9.7 percentage points compared to the same period last year.

According to the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, China's industrial competitiveness index currently ranks seventh out of 136 countries, with net exports of manufacturing ranking first globally.
